Beyonce scored all of her noms for the ground-breaking "Single Ladies" video, while Lady Gaga split hers between "Poker Face" and the avant garde short film "Paparazzi." Britney garnered most of her noms for "Womanizer" but "Circus" got the technical nominations. Lady Gaga and Beyonce both walked away with 9 nominations and Britney Spears landed 7. MTV, the (former?) music video channel, released the nominees for its 2009 Video Music Awards and the big dogs this year were well.bitches. James Brown may have sang that it was a man's world, but he didn't know about Lady Gaga and Beyonce.
